folc.ca's comment on HAZCO's answer to FAQ #38

Note: The background text in the following was copied from the Frequently-asked Questions page at HAZCO's website, Nov. 2, 2005.  HAZCO's answers to "frequently asked questions" deserve further comments.  Those comments are inserted where required in HAZCO's text and are shown on yellow background.

From HAZCO's FAQ web page (quoted verbatim):

FAQ #38. The flyer asks “Will our quality of life survive Hazco’s Sulphur Storage facility.  Its’ obvious some people are very concerned about your proposal.  What do you say to these folks?

Environmental protection and safety is a top priority to Hazco.  Hazco maintains that the quality of life will not be affected due to facility design and sound operation of the facility which will ensure no impact to human health or the surrounding environment.

Comment:

That is the sort of commitment to principles that we have become familiar with over the last few months.

First HAZCO states that, "It’s not appropriate for us to comment on what others are saying or doing."  Then, in the very next answer to a question pertaining to the same document HAZCO says it doesn't want to comment on HAZCO provides an answer containing worn-out rhetoric.

We don't want to hear or read rhetoric.  We want facts, and we don't want our County Council to give HAZCO permission to locate here.

There is absolutely nothing in the whole proposal that instils confidence or the expectation of prosperity for the residents of the County of Lamont.
